Activities for 2025

 

1) GÜKÇAM held a symposium titled ‘University and Women’ on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in the Prof. Dr. Enver Hasanoğlu Conference Hall on the 6th floor of the Gazi University Faculty of Medicine (GÜTF) Dean's Office building. Opening speeches were given by the Senior Manager of GÜKÇAM, Head of the Department of Medical Ethics and Medical History, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Çobanoğlu Yüksel, and the Chief Physician of GÜTF Hospital, Prof. Dr. Hakan Atalar. Following the opening speeches, a piano recital was shared with the participants by Ayça Babacan, daughter of the retired head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Algology Department, Prof. Dr. Avni C. Babacan. After the recital, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Çobanoğlu presented Ayça Babacan with flowers and a certificate. The symposium program included speeches by Meral Güler, President of the Turkish University Women's Association (TÜKD); Emel Uslu Atik, President of the Emel Uslu Atik Education, Application and Research Foundation; and Pınar Ayhan, President of the Tohumluk Foundation and artist. Following the presentation of certificates and flowers to the speakers by Prof. Dr. Nesrin Çobanoğlu Yüksel, the symposium concluded on the same day.

2) On December 9, 2025, a panel titled "Child Neglect and Abuse: Ethical, Legal and Social Dimensions" was held in the Prof. Dr. Enver Hasanoğlu Conference Hall of the Faculty of Medicine Dean's Building. The event was organized in line with our university's goal of raising awareness in the areas of child rights, public health, and ethical responsibility.

The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Nesrin Çobanoğlu Yüksel (Head of the Department of Medical History and Ethics, Senior Manager of GÜKÇAM); the speakers included:

• Gökten Koçoğlu (Retired), Child Judge,

• Şahin Antakyalıoğlu (Member of the UNICEF Governing Council on Preventing Violence Against Children, Lawyer),

• Sema Hosta (UNICEF Turkey Communications Director),

• Bahar Çuhacı Çakır (Social Pediatrician).

The panel concluded with these contributions.

Approximately 450 people participated in the event, where the ethical, legal, medical, and communicative dimensions of child neglect and abuse were addressed from a multidisciplinary perspective.

3) As GÜKÇAM, we participated in the "Family and Culture-Art Symposium" held on November 19-20, in collaboration with the Presidential Council for Culture and Arts Policies and the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

4) We participated, by assignment, in the "Vision Document and Action Plan for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family" meeting organized by the Ankara Governorship Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate on December 4, 2025.
